Atria seemed equally confused.

Drooping her tail sadly, the Houndoom lay her head in Alice’s lap, looking up at her mournfully. Sending an apologetic whine at Fearow, Atria nuzzled Alice’s palm before shrugging.

“Shoot, Alice, ‘ave no idea. Seem to be havin’ a heart-wretchin’, world-hatin’ convention, bu’ thas just me. I still don’ get it…”

The rest of Valentine’s pokemon froze in their activities, nervously eyeing Maira and the Prof. Callixtus nervously ‘twiddled’ his arms, finally reaching out and grappling onto Aquila in need of self assurance. Aquila hummed something that sounded annoyed, but kept his large, turquoise eyes on the double ‘morph. Avalon, brought out of her philosophical pondering, glanced uneasily at the pair, feeling the tension even from her secluded spot. Auva, still immersed in his pond, kept a watchful eye on Shadow lest he-

Diana was the only one unfazed. Fluttering around happily, the never ending energy continued to fuel her even though her playmate lay slumped in obvious exhaustion. Landing lightly on the grass beside her, Diana quietly looked at Valentine, feeling the tension in the air. Being more sensitive than the rest, Diana’s kite-like form began to shake as the tension made her begin to sob, feeling extraordinarily uncomfortable…

Valentine stared Maira down apathetically, thankful she couldn’t read his mind. This was something he’d deal with alone. Nonchalantly shaking his head, he buried his fists into his deep pockets as he glance impassively at Psychic-Though, ignoring his obvious discomfort.

“Guilt? What could I possibly be feeling guilty about?”

He felt uneasy for a moment, before he finally recalled the double morph’s other pokemon entity. Of course, he’d have to be dually cautious now. The tail feather continued to hang like some decoration form underneath the wide curtain of his coat, occasionally fluttering with the wind.

Whatever else Boticelli was thinking, he kept it under wraps. The only thing betraying his inner thinking were the stormy, gray eyes, so focused on the vibrant green grass.

"I don't know- stupid resistance..," Maira answered coldly, eyeing the man who stood before her. Although he was older than Maira (who was currently sixteen, November 2), the also dark trainer seemed to have no care for such notes. Age didn't matter very much to her, appearently- 'side, the double already looked a bit older than she really was.

{Awww, don't cry!} Being the soft-hearted (which was different than his trainer, for sure) gardevoir he was, Psy quickly floated up to Diana, eyeing the togekiss with bright cyan eyes (which was the same colour as the text for his voice if you wanna know).

Maira rolled her eyes at the togekiss' crying. Pathetic...

for a long tiem we tend to always pitty ourselves. because of this was fail to notice the pain and misery in other people's lives. because of this we tend to be rather unhappy all the time. for those who are forever grateful for everything given to them... these are the ones with true strength. strength to push away the horrible things in life and see the pain in other lives...

{{Shadow's old; but what's your point? ={; I'm sorry, I don't understand the connection between the ages...

By the by, are they going to just stand around like emo statues all day? o-o We could... try and spice it up somehow... *is thinking* }}

"Hmph."

Disapprovingly voicing his contempt, Boticelli gave Maira an equally cold glare; his hands still firmly dug into his pockets. He might've smiled... but Maira said he should try it earlier, so why continue to fan her flame?

He was mean like that.

The silky red ear flicked up lazily, as he shot Diana a... somewhat cryptic look. It was unclear whether he was giving her pity, reprimanding her, or... feeling responsible for her unhappiness. Aware of Maira's prying emotion sensors, however, Valentine kept his feelings at an all time low.

Switching his gaze from Maira to Alice, young to old, made him feel... middle aged. How that feeling would come across to Maira... was an interesting thought process. Quizzically eyeing the dark youth, Valentine merely shrugged, allowing the wind to toy with his long hair.

"......."

Diana wasn't as quiet.

Stifling her sobs, the sensitive Togekiss directed her baby blue gaze up at Psy. Meeting his bright cyan gaze, Diana didn't feel as sad anymore, because he looked... happy. Swinging her mood around faster than someone with bipolar disorder, the darkness around the trainer's was of little importance. 'Hopping', half floating up, a vibrant smile was the kind Gardevoir's reward.

And a hug.

"Togekiss! "

Maira snorted. This was getting very boring. And she hated boring.

"Well, I can see that I've spent enough time here. Psy, you go ahead and ask for directions- I'm getting restless. See ya at Elemental," Nodding towards the shiny gardevoir who has flinched, Maira didn't even wait for a reply. She scowled and quickly walked off, the spiteful aura never leaving her side.

Psychic-Dream (Maira got used to changing name when even her pokémon evolved- she was frequently chased by the police) blinked and looked down at Diana. Nodding in a slightly creeped out way the garevoir quickly pushed Diana off him.

ooc:// Gardevoir have such thin waist. *gets flun itno wall by psychic*
Psychic-Dream: ... Heh...

Diana, sliding off Psy, shrugged it off as he was leaving. Waving energetically at Maira, the Togekiss nodded politely at the Gardevoir, waving energetically at him as well, before skipping off to bother someone else. All in one, nice, rambling sentence.

"If you must; farewell Maira. Safe journey."

Waving her off politely, the careful mask Valentine had on loosened up a bit, but not enough to betray what he was feeling/thinking completely. He just seemed... thoughtful, not at all serene, but troubled thoughtful. As usual.

Turning to Alice, he nodded for no apperant reason, rocking himself backwards and forwards on his heels very slowly...

Maira wasn't the only one who was bored.

d**n! What he'd do for another lab to write or paper to review... This idleness left him with too much thinking time...

Silence.

And lots of it.

---

Alice sighed. She could tell that Valentine was bored... but was being stuck inside exciting? The flying-type trainer couldn't really tell and thought about check the sneasel morph's eyes. Hey, eyes where the window to the soul. But Alice thought again and decided to just ask Atria and some of the other pokémon- they had to know.. something.

Kneeling down, the 'experienced' trainer looked at said houndoom and asking that very question, "Hey... does Valentine over there like doing all those boring little papers? I think he does." Meanwhile, Fearow was trying to find some Burn Heal for his beak and... the rest of him. Oh, well..

Valentine… wasn’t particularly productive.

Just that troubled, thoughtful expression on his face and the rhythmic rocking on his heels; a habit he had never managed to grow out of… Ah, the sweet but bitter melancholy of memory…His troubled eyes seemed to focus on nothing in particular, and the young professor seemed completely oblivious to his surroundings…
---
“Hmm?”

Turning her somewhat worried gaze on Alice, Atria barely mulled over it before nodding. Casting Valentine a reproachful glance, that he didn’t acknowledge, the bone mutt elaborated…

“Yup; and I ‘aven’t any idea why! He acts bored when he does it, ‘cause you know he hates his job; but he looks so troubled when he doesn’t do ‘em! Frankly, I’d be ‘appy if he took a vacation sometime, actually relaxed ‘cause he is one uptight ‘morph. You’r presence here though, makes ‘im all the less melancholy. Still; it grinds mah last nerve! He’s so frickin’ paradoxical and complicated! Arrrgh! Men!”

Ending her speech with great vigor, the irritated fire/dark type angrily thumped into the lush grass, glaring at the oblivious Prof…

Callixtus was… being harshly admonished by Avalon nearby, and Aquila lay snickering off to the side. Callixtus didn’t seem too fazed though… He got a browbeating every other day… they all did.

Valentine was exempted, but he was the trainer…

Life wasn’t fun at times, was it?
